Friday Night Lights Provide Early College Football Betting Lines For Week 3

NCAAF betting on Friday Nights in 2022

It’s official. College football has invaded Friday nights, a territory that used to be exclusive to high school gridiron action.

While that may cause a rift in households where both high school football and their local NCAAF team command their attention, in the world of sports betting, it just means more gambling over the course of fall weeknights.

After all, we like to keep things positive here at SB18, so we’re focusing on the game lines for betting on college football tonight. While there are no ranked teams featured in this evening’s games, the top matchup features a Florida State Seminoles team that could crack the top 25 with a win.

Florida State Seminoles @ Louisville Cardinals

  • Point Spread: FSU -2.5, Louisville +2.5
  • Moneyline: FSU -140, Louisville +120
  • Over/Under: 57.0
  • Kickoff At 7:30 PM On ESPN

The 2-0 FSU Seminoles are road favorites by just under a field goal versus the Louisville at Cardinals Stadium tonight at 7:30 PM. The Cardinals are 1-1, getting blown out by the Syracuse Orange in game 1 and surviving a close victory against the University of Central Florida Golden Knights last weekend.

Much of the Seminoles’ gusto is based upon their road win against the LSU Tigers of the SEC. The only issue with that variable is we’ve yet to see the true might of LSU, so time will tell if the victory for FSU was significant.

Florida State’s results have been rocky since Jimbo Fisher left the team to coach for the Texas A&M Aggies in 2018. While the Noles still produce plenty of talent into the National Football League, there’s been no consistency when it comes to winning games from week to week.

According to the current futures posted at 18-friendly CFP betting sites, Florida State is the 23rd best NCAA Football team in the nation with a moneyline of +15000 for winning a National Championship.

While that doesn’t grant them much of a chance of hoisting a title next January 9th in Los Angeles, California’s SoFi Stadium, it does place them back within relevancy in NCAAF, something they’ve struggled to maintain for the past few seasons.

The next two Friday night NCAAF matchups will have no impact on CFP National Championship betting, but they do offer additional game lines for potential parlays.

Air Force Falcons @ Wyoming Cowboys

  • Point Spread: Air Force -16.5, Wyoming +16.5
  • Moneyline: Air Force -800, Wyoming +525
  • Over/Under: 47.0

These two Mountain West Conference programs will kick off at 8:00 PM tonight, with the Air Force Falcons favored to dominate by a point spread that is north of 2 touchdowns.

Merrimack Warriors @ Harvard Crimson

  • Point Spread: Merrimack +28.0, Harvard -28.0
  • Moneyline: n/a
  • Over/Under: 52.5

At 7:00 PM tonight, the Merrimack Warriors of the Northeast Conference are projected to get a 4-touchdown whipping by the Ivy League’s Harvard Crimson. The Crimson are favored so heavily that the moneyline odds for straight winner bets have been removed from the boards at Bovada.

Harvard has yet to play a game this season, so there is plenty left to learn about their football program. The Warriors have a decent shot of covering the 28-point spread, so head on over to Bovada if the line looks appealing.
