The 2025 MTV VMAs are happening this Sunday night, and for the first time, they’ll be airing on the CBS Network. Online entertainment betting sites have taken their sweet time in producing odds for the VMAs, but BetOnline finally came through yesterday, with futures on five major categories.

Artist of the Year

Lady Gaga -550
Taylor Swift +500
Kendrick Lamar +650
Beyonce +800
Bad Bunny +1000
The Weeknd +1000
Morgan Wallen +1400

What’s unusual is that celebrity betting sites have posted odds that include a heavy favorite in each category. While that does take a little bit of the fun out of the projections, it does offer 18-and-older gamblers a chance to earn some decent money by wagering on underdogs.

Lady Gaga is favored to win the Artist of the Year VMA, and is rated 850 points ahead of Taylor Swift in the moneyline odds. The underdog is Kendrick Lamar at +650, who inarguably had a better 12-month cycle than Lady Gaga.

Best Album

Sabrina Carpenter Short n Sweet -350
Lady Gaga Mayhem +275
Kendrick Lamar GNX +800
Bad Bunny DTMF +1000
The Weeknd Hurry Up Tomorrow +1200
Morgan Wallen I’m The Problem +1200

Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n Sweet has had numerous radio-friendly tracks swimming around in our heads for the past year. She’s rated at -350 six days from the event. Once again, we like Kendrick Lamar’s GNX as an underdog contender for Best Album.

New Artist of the Year

Alex Warren -500
Lola Young +375
Sombr +475
Ella Langley +1000
Gigi Perez +1000
The Marias +12000

18+ sportsbooks are way out in front in their assessment of Alex Warren’s chances of winning the New Artist of the Year VMA. Warren’s single, ‘Ordinary,’ rose to the top of the Billboard Top 100 during the evaluation window for this year’s VMAs, which should cement the award for him as a rookie artist.

Lola Young is also a strong contender. Her single, ‘Messy,’ could resonate with some voters more so than Warren.

Video of the Year

Kendrick Lamar Not Like Us -300
Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars Die with a Smile +250
Sabrina Carpenter Manchild +800
Billie Eilish BIRDS OF A FEATHER +900
Ariana Grande brighter days ahead +1000
The Weeknd & Playboi Carti Timeless +1000
ROSÉ & Bruno Mars APT +1200

Finally, the VMAs appear poised to break off some respect for Kendrick by giving him the VMA for Video of the Year. A lack of acknowledgement from MTV for the ‘Not Like Us’ video could put them at risk of further irrelevance. Tread carefully, MTV.

Song of the Year

Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars Die with a Smile -800
Billie Eilish BIRDS OF A FEATHER +400
Alex Warren Ordinary +800
ROSÉ & Bruno Mars APT. +1000
Doechii Anxiety +1400
Tate McRae Sports Car +1600
The Weeknd & Playboi Carti Timeless +1600
Lorde What Was That +2000
Ed Sheeran Sapphire +2500
Gracie Abrams I Love You, I’m Sorry +2500

The most certain winner of the night, according to the betting odds, is Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars for Song of the Year with Die with a Smile. They are separated from Billie Eilish by 1,000 points, signifying a major upset if anyone but Gaga and Mars wins.

Be sure to tune in to the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday at 8 PM on CBS.
